Sadly, the Israelites in Malachi's day were in that place. They had made many false assumptions and came to many wrong conclusions that greatly hindered them from seeing the Truth. Sadly, just 100 years prior, the people had been in a similar situation and had failed to learn the lesson. Malachi 2:10-17 Most people would never want to show disrespect or dishonor towards God. However, without even realizing this, they do it on a regular basis. In Malachi 2 God gives us a gauge to evaluate whether we are showing Him the respect and the honor that He deserves. The truth that He reveals may surprise you. Be sure to listen today so that you can learn and grow to the be the child of God that gives Him the honor and praise that He alone is worthy of.

In the book of Mark, we find that the disciples got into a boat, at night, and went out across the sea. In their obedience to Jesus, the disciples ran directly into a storm. Their obedience literally took them into the heart of a disaster. God doesn’t bring storms into our lives to make us bitter but to make us better. The enemy may use storms in an attempt to destroy us, but they are meant to deepen us and deepen our trust in the Lord. Life comes with troubles, regardless of whether or not you follow Jesus. As followers, however, we are challenged to have faith and trust Him in the midst of the storm and He promises to supply peace.

We live in a culture that prides itself on its self-sufficiency, but there are some things we simply cannot do - especially when it comes to our spiritual life. Many people and many world religions believe that if we do enough good in this life, we can earn our way to heaven. In this message, Pastor Scott will explain what the Bible says in Ephesians 2:1-10 about our salvation and show us three things that we cannot do - we cannot live a perfect life, we cannot avoid the consequence of our sin, and we cannot earn our salvation.

Sometimes we find it very difficult to let go of things that have been done to us, and sometimes we simply don’t want to forgive. No matter the situation, if we refuse to forgive we will eventually come to experience bitterness in our lives which will hinder us in a multitude of ways. Sacrificial, faithful, full of encouragement, and overflowing with love, our VBS volunteers lived out the calling to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank the Lord for each one of the 209 who served. You are greatly valued, and above all, may God bless you as you continue serving Him by serving His church! . Many of our VBS workers are already faithfully serving on Sundays. But there are also those who went out of their comfort zone and served in an area that they've never tried before, and God was faithful in providing strength and wisdom! During VBS, the kids raised $6,758.51 to help Because We Care Ministries provide meals to kids and families in Nicaragua. That's 422,407 meals total that missionaries Donald M Gillette and PamelaStanley Gillette will be able to provide to their neighbors! It is the slow fade that gets us where we don’t want to be without realizing that we don’t want to be there. The snare of the slow fade doesn’t begin with a radically aware and auspicious decision. It begins with an abdication of what we know is right and what we know to be righteous. The slow fade is otherwise known as the Hindrance of Compromise. We are always one decision, one word, one action away from damaging what has taken, perhaps, years to develop. We will discover in our study of the Word that the Israelites were living in a day of pluralism – not so different than today. We need to shift from the Hindrance of Compromise to the Hope of Christ.
